Paulo J. Negro, MD PhD, is a highly experienced physician Board Certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine and is a recognized leader in the treatment of mental health and addiction. Indeed, during his career, Dr. Negro has held clinical and administrative leadership positions at several renowned medical, addiction and behavioral health institutions — including serving as the Chief Medical Officer of the Kolmac Outpatient Recovery Centers and as Director of Behavioral Services at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland.

While serving in the latter capacity, he was responsible for the research collaboration between the Internal Research Program of the National Institute of Mental Health and Suburban Hospital. Dr. Negro has treated thousands of patients suffering from substance use disorder various anxiety, mood and behavioral health conditions. In doing so, he has combined psychopharmacological treatment with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to maximize beneficial patient outcomes while offering thoughtful, compassionate care to his patients throughout the process.
