Since its launch in 2012, the EdX platform has allowed thousands of people worldwide to take classes online with professors at some of the best colleges and universities around the globe for FREE. (No really! We mean it!) There are more than 3,000 classes available in subjects ranging from philosophy to art history, taught by professors at Harvard, MIT, Stanford, NYU and dozens more. In the past few years, EdX has even partnered with several top universities to offer online master’s and micro-master’s degrees for a fraction of the price of full-time tuition. Its model is simple. Anyone, anywhere, with an internet connection can audit a class for free; if you would like to upgrade and take the class for a certificate degree that can be added to your resume, you can pay a small fee (usually around $100).
Finding purpose is one of the key things to sustaining long-term recovery. Continuing education and developing new skills are among the very best ways to go about that.
