Genya Ravan

MUSICIAN AND AUTHOR

About

In 2011, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame museum included Goldie and the Gingerbreads in their Woman in Music exhibition. That same year, Genya began work on her latest album, “Cheesecake Girl,” a collection of mostly original material based on her autobiography. Not only, but also: guest DJ for Little Steven’s Underground Garage on SiriusXM. Singer, songwriter and producer who sang with Lou Reed and Ian Hunter, and played with Mick Ronson. Cofounder of Goldie and the Gingerbreads and Ten Wheel Drive. Born in Poland, raised on the Lower East Side of NYC. Learned English by listening to R&B.

Genya has toured with the Rolling Stones, the Kinks, the Yardbirds, Sly and the Family Stone, the Chambers Brothers, Steppenwolf and many others. She wrote an autobiography, “Lollipop Lounge,” available on Amazon.

“If I didn’t get sober, I would not be here to talk to you, sing to you, laugh with you. I thought it was the end of my life when I stopped drinking and drugging. Little did I know it was the beginning! So here I am to say: Sobriety means you get to do it all over again. Another chance at ‘life’ … this time, the right way.”
