Richie Supa

Richie Supa is an ASCAP New York member and singer-songwriter with more than 200 songs recorded and four solo albums to his name. Richie’s career was launched via the legendary Long Island band The Rich Kids, who were signed by Clive Davis to Columbia Records. Richie was a staff writer at EMI Music for 18 years, as well as Warner Chappell Music and Famous Music, and went on to a career on Broadway, where he had the lead role in the hit musical “Hair.” Artists who have recorded Richie’s songs include Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Ozzy Osborne, Humble Pie, Pink and legendary talents such as Johnny Winter, Levon Helm, Tom Jones, Air Supply, Glen Campbell and Willie Nelson, to name a few. Richie’s songs have appeared in Disney movies, feature films and on network television, including the hit show “Melrose Place.”

Richie has been friends with Steven Tyler for years and has been part of the Aerosmith family. He wrote several of their rock hits, including “Chip Away the Stone,” “Lightning Strikes,” “Amazing” and “Pink,” which Aerosmith won a Grammy for. Richie cowrote nine songs with Richie Sambora on his “Undiscovered Soul” album and toured with Sambora for his solo project. His songs “In the Rooms” and “Last House on the Block” were nominated for and won Best Song of the Year at the 2009 and 2011 Prism Awards; he also earned a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Richie has entered a new chapter in his life and has applied what he learned as a songwriter to a body of work used to aid the process of recovery. His latest album, “Enemy,” contains songs that he uses for music therapy to fight addiction. He is a founding member and director of creative recovery at Recovery Unplugged Treatment Center in his hometown of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Richie is a recovering addict with 34 years clean and communicates, through music, the message of recovery. Richie’s philosophy is simple. You can’t keep what you have unless you give it away, so he keeps on giving.
