Mark Hudson

RECORD PRODUCER | MUSICIAN | SONGWRITER

About

Mark is a Grammy Award–winning songwriter and producer who has worked with artists such as Ringo Starr, Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Harry Nilsson, Cher, Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper, Carole King, Celine Dion and many more. Mark first came on the scene in a rock band with his brothers, Bill and Brett—the three formed the Hudson Brothers. Their band, deeply influenced by the Beatles, had two Top 20 hits, “So You Are A Star” and “Rendezvous,” produced by Bernie Taupin for Elton John’s Rocket Records. The Brothers enjoyed much success, with seven albums and concert tours worldwide.

Mark then went on to learn music production from the legendary Phil Ramone and began producing and writing songs for a variety of top artists. In 2005, Mark was a cast member on the Simon Cowell smash hit “The X Factor,” along with Sharon Osbourne. During that time, Mark wrote and produced “It’s Chico Time,” which went to No. 1 in England. He also produced Ozzy Osbourne’s first No. 1 single, titled “Changes,” with Ozzy and Kelly Osbourne.

In 2019, Mark finished producing Harry Nilsson’s final album of original songs, which the two started together 25 years ago just before Nilsson’s death. These recordings, three of which Mark cowrote with Nilsson, had never been heard or released previously. The album was highly anticipated, especially with the resurgence of interest in Nilsson’s songs, as heard in popular media and entertainment such as the Netflix series “Russian Doll” and IBM Cloud commercials. Mark has been kicking music, television and entertainment butt for more than 40 years, working with countless talented artists. Asked recently when he’s planning to stop, he replied, “Never! I’m not good at anything else!”

“I got sober October 9th, 1993. They say it's one day at a time, and sometimes it's one minute at a time! BUT … by the grace of a 'higher power' and the brothers and sisters in my recovery program, I have my life back. It wasn't easy but is sooooooo worth it!”
