‘Breathing Into Life’: Poetic Inspiration for Appreciating the Present
Author, wellness advocate and yoga therapist Bija Bennett shares some wisdom that should speak to anyone in recovery
It’s easy to lose sight of the important things, both big and small — but essential that we don’t. That’s the simple message of this poem from Bija Bennett, a certified yoga therapist, wellness teacher, motivational speaker and friend of All Sober.
Bennett incorporates both science and history in her approach to wellness and has treated patients, from professional athletes to the chronically ill, using yoga techniques and her six principles of well-being. Self-awareness, emotional engagement, rest: They’re all things we could all practice a little more often, and for those of us in recovery, they’re especially important to keep in mind.
